Milk, funded by the Government is provided daily by “Chilled Milk” to all pupils under the age of five years old. Once a child reaches the age of five parents/carers have the opportunity to purchase milk from “Chilled Milk”.
Each child receives a 200ml carton of milk which provides the kind of healthy goodness that helps children concentrate, have more energy, and get the most out of their school day. No other drink comes close to giving children the sixteen essential nutrients they need to grow and be healthy.
The school will provide free milk for any child who is eligible for Free School Meals and is aged five years and over in agreement with parents/carers.
Please contact the School Office if you have any enquiries regarding “Chilled Milk”.
A piece of fruit is provided daily and funded by the Government for all children of Nursery and Infant School age.
The School Fruit & Vegetable Scheme is part of the national 5 A DAY programme. Fruit and vegetables are key to a healthier lifestyle for all of us and experts recommend that everyone eats at least five portions of a variety of fruit and vegetables in a day. Many children eat fewer than that. A national survey found that one in five children didn’t eat any fruit at all in a week.
Fruit can be purchased by the children of Junior School age during each morning break from a member of the School Council. Apples, oranges, bananas and pears are sold at a cost of 20p each.
